Little Women-Theatre Hike (Script in Hand)

Join us as we dive into a condensed version of one of the most beloved stories of all time.  Using little more than the script in our hands, the beauty of the nature around us

and the glorious words of Louisa May Alcott to guide us, we will put up a show in a four day (eight hour total) window.

Under the guidance of their beloved mother, the four young March sisters -- tempestuous Jo, motherly Meg, shy Beth, and spoiled Amy -- struggle to keep their family going while Father is away in the Civil War. In this beautifully dramatized adaptation of the classic novel, each girl strives to find her true self even as illness and sibling rivalry cast their shadows.

The first three days of Camp will be spent understanding the meaning of the words and doing staging in the park. On the fourth day, we will rehearse the show before lunch and then do a performance for friends and family after lunch!

Requirements: You may be asked to produce your own long skirt or dress in slacks!

NOTES:  We will be casting this gender neutral

Primary Teacher: Jennifer Mohr and Stephanie Palko

Tier: Heroes and Legends

Cost $80

Min/ Max: 7/11 (11 is max)

Note: No Drop-ins, Reading is required

Summerslam Camp Session--June 18-21st  (4-day Camp!)

All classes are held outside in the park next to Waveland Clock Tower. They will run rain or shine, unless there’s a great deal of rain or cold; if that occurs, they will be moved to Pendulum building (if it is a Session class) or rescheduled if a LARP Event (we will notify parents via email as soon as possible in the event this happens). Drop-ins are welcome in some classes; Please check the “Notes” section. Classes, of course, must meet their minimum to run at all.

Details and Perks of the Park:  There is plenty of metered parking. The Irving Park (#80) and Addison (#152) buses are also great options, plus several inner Lake Shore Dr. buses. There are public bathrooms, plenty of shade, and a lovely bar/cafe nearby. Drop your kid off or stay and enjoy the park! Sign up for 3 (paying classes, not LARP) and get one free!
