Wizard of Oz

UPS for Downs Theatre company partners with the Constellation Project of E.D.G.E of Orion Theatre to bring to life “The Wizard of Oz”. Journey down the yellow brick road with us. New this year will be the addition of a junior ensemble to provide community theatre opportunities to our younger families.

This is theatre for ALL.  Invite friends, neighbors, classmates and cousins to join this amazing production!

Cost: $110 per actor, including peers, siblings, and actors with Down syndrome.  Costs are underwritten by UPS for DownS. Theatre peers will be reimbursed half of their tuition based on director recommendation. No reimbursement for Junior Ensemble peers .

Committing to the show is essential. This project should receive the same amount of commitment as a competitive athletic team, marching band, or other play. This means moving your lives around rehearsals. This means not planning social events over rehearsals. If you have a featured role than you must make every attempt to make every rehearsal. If you have a commitment that takes you out of the show once a week, this will affect casting, meaning you may only be in the ensemble. We understand that people have lives but this should be an important commitment. Please understand that we have less than 50 practices to create an entire world. Let us reiterate. If you have a lot of conflicts it does not mean you can't be in the show. It does mean that you can't have a lead. Before you register, look at your calendars carefully and note ALL conflicts so you know what you're getting into before committing.

Please note: the Junior Ensemble will only be rehearsing for the first hour of Tuesday nights (6:30-7:30 p.m). Once we begin Saturdays, the Junior Ensemble will be with us the entire rehearsal, and as we get closer to the show, they will be staying for the second hour of Tuesday nights. More specific dates to come.
